
Barón Balché In 1997, the Rios family acquired a 50 year old vineyard in the Guadalupe Valley. They began to make homemade wine only. Eventually, Don Jesus Rios decided to modify their facilities and shortly after became a more commercial project. This new venture began when Don Jesus Rios collaborated with Dr. Victor Torres, a Mexican enologist accredited with a Doctorate degree from the University of Enology in Bordeaux, France. They began the regeneration and propagation processes of different varietals in their vineyards such as Malbec, Merlot, Carignan, Cabernet Franc, Zinfandel, Grenache and more in the Guadalupe Valley to create Barón Balché.
The first vineyard production was in 2001, Currently Barón Balché produces approximately 120,000 bottles per year and production is increasing. With their distinctive quality control processes, procedures and their updated infrastructure, high quality wines are being produced. Barón Balché has created lasting, wonderful impressions on beginners and the world’s most demanding palates.
